Nenagh Credit Union provides it's members with a selection of insurance options. We offer Loan Protection Insurance, AXA Insurance for your home or car and Death Benefit Plus Insurance.
Loan Protection Insurance
Loan Protection Insurance is the insurance cover the Credit Union provides on the lives of its borrowing members (excluding mortgages)
Should an insured borrower die, the insurance cover provides that the loan is repaid in full. If a member who is eligible for insurance coverage and has signed the credit agreement dies with a loan outstanding, the loan balance is paid in full by the insurer.
You will be informed at the time of the loan application if your loan exceeds the amount covered by the credit unions policy. Under the basic policy, death cover ceases on the members 70th birthday. The credit union has the option of extending this age limit to the members 80th birthday by affecting cover under the Over 70 Rider.
This insurance is provided free of charge to all eligible members
Life Savings Insurance
Life Savings Insurance is the life insurance cover the Credit Union provides for its eligible members as an additional incentive for them to save regularly. The amount of insurance benefit to which a member is entitled is in proportion to the amount of savings the member has and depends on the member's age at the date of lodgement.

Death Benefit Plus
The death of a loved one would cause a huge upheaval in your life. As well as the loss and the grief, there are the financial implications of a funeral. To help, Nenagh Credit Union is introducing a new funeral insurance product called Death Benefit Plus. This is a whole of life insurance policy that can provide a lump sum on your death and can help pay your funeral costs or any other bills or could simply be left to a loved one through your Will.
With Death Benefit Plus there are no medical questions and you are guaranteed to be accepted if:
- You are resident and living in the Republic of Ireland and,
- are aged at least 18 and under 80 years of age and,
- you hold an account with an Irish based financial institution (e.g. a Credit Union or Bank) that allows you to pay the monthly premiums by direct debit.
