JOB TITLE: Member Services Officer/Teller

CREDIT UNION: Nenagh Credit Union

REPORTING TO: CEO and Member Services Manager

 

Nenagh Credit Union Limited are inviting applications for the position of Member Services Officer/Teller. This is an excellent opportunity to join a progressive and ambitious Credit Union with over 18,500 members and assets of €93 million. Nenagh Credit Union wish to appoint a self-motivated individual with excellent communication and interpersonal skills to this position.

 

GENERAL SCOPE OF ROLE:

Reporting to the CEO and Member Services Manager, the Member Services Officer/Teller will be responsible for carrying out a range of operational and administrative activities that contribute to providing excellent member experience and support the effective and compliant operation of the Credit Union. The successful candidate will be member focused and highly motivated, with a very clear sense of what constitutes providing a great member experience.

More specifically, he/she will:

  • Deliver an excellent member service across multiple delivery channels adhering to the Principles Values and Culture of Nenagh Credit Union.
  • Promote and explain products and services offered by Nenagh Credit Union to current and potential members.
  • Process member transactions including lodgments, withdrawals and transfers, account opening and re-activation.
  • Issue member loans and ensure that all loan conditions are satisfied.
  • Deal with and resolve member queries.
  • Refer loan applications to the Lending team.
  • Accurately and diligently handle cash, reconcile balances and account for any shortfall/excess
  • Complete the day-to-day back-office processing of automated files
  • Supporting operational activities and participating in project work as required
  • Working collaboratively with colleagues to ensure the efficient operation of the office
  • Operate within the risk and compliance frameworks of Nenagh Credit Union and ensure adherence to all regulatory requirements policies and procedures

The Person:

  • Progressive, solution focussed & flexible, with a proven track record of working on own initiative
  • Minimum 3 years Customer Service experience ideally in Financial Services customer facing roles
  • A relevant financial services qualification, such as APA and/or QFA (or equivalent) or willing to complete one of these qualifications
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, and a clear understanding of what great member experience is & how it is delivered
  • Attention to detail is key to ensure that the Credit Union meets its responsibilities as a regulated entity & gets it right first time for our members
  • Strong people skills with the ability to work effectively with other team members
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook applications
